Hindi and Tamil have vastly different rhythmic structures. While the original Hindi dialogues by Bhansali are poetic, the Tamil dubbing studios have recreated that poetic intensity. The verbal duels between Ram and Leela, especially the "Saaliyo... Saali..." (Brother-in-law) banter, have been expertly translated into Tamil slang that retains the flirtatious aggression. When Leela’s brothers threaten Ram in raw, colloquial Tamil, the impact hits much harder than reading subtitles.
